Summary:
This position is primarily responsible for coordinating the traffic of import shipments in the
U.S.A. and ensuring all paperwork is ready for the delivery of goods to final destination. The traffic coordinator is the primary contact for customers and overseas agents.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Receive documentation from overseas agents, customers, shippers
- Review, verify pre-alert information
- Maintain contact with customers by phone or in person and receives orders for processing, delivery, discontinuance, or change in service.
- Review information for completeness: confirm flight information, cargo on board, AMS System (Customs) and OGA clearance
- Distribution of documentation to Customers (pre-alerts) UIC Import Agents (entry writers), Outside Brokers, Trucking Companies
- Solicits sale of new or additional services.
- Provides quotation for potential new and existing business
- Performs contract review, determines charges for service requested, collects deposits, process or re-direct change of address records, and issues discontinuance orders.
- Responsible for developing of new or existing business.
- Process cargo claims
