Night Warehouse Manager



Schedule:
  • Will have to work Sunday thru Thursday night.
  • Friday shift maybe assigned as necessary
  • Flexible schedule is necessary for vacation and sick time coverage on a rotational basis

Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the shift, participating in all disciplinary actions, and following up with HR in regards to documentations as necessary
  • Complies with federal, state and local warehousing, material handling and shipping requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
  • Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.
  • Maintains physical conditions of warehouse by planning and implementing new design layouts; inspecting equipment; issuing work orders for repair and requisitions for replacement.
  • Achieves financial objectives by working with operations management by preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiation corrective actions.
  • Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees, following up on work results.
  • Maintains warehouse staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting and training employees
  • Maintains warehouse staff job results by coaching, counseling and disciplining employees; planning, monitoring and apprising job results.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks.
  • Confers with department heads to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as production, sales, records control and purchasing.
  • Participles in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities.
  • Supervises the loading of trucks daily as needed
  • Monitors and controls inventory thru the shifts daily activities
  • Responsible for ensuring warehouse and housekeeping adhere to regulatory standards
  • Establish and maintain designated work areas as needed, ensure orderly and safe conditions at all times
  • Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely shipping of all orders
  • Recommend tools, fixtures, and equipment or layout changes to improve work flow and productivity.
  • Cultivate and maintain a professional relationship with the rest of the team based on respect, fairness and teamwork
  • Perform other duties as required by the nature of the position or as requested by upper management.

Skills
  • This appointment carries a 90 days probationary period
  • Start the training on managing the Friday shift which will include invoicing and all relevant tasks performed on AS400.
  • By the end of the probationary and training period, incumbent must demonstrate a thorough understand and competency in performing the necessary tasks related to supervising the Friday shift

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Able to read and write at least at a high school proficiency level.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Able to speak Spanish is helpful.

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills:

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Inventory software and Internet software.

Certificates and Licenses:

No certifications needed – experience in using AS400, BFC and/or Roadnet software is helpful
