Export Specialist for our JFK office
Responsible for processing ocean and air export transactions. Providing and maintaining effective customer service satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, review and process export ocean and air bookings
- Handle export air and ocean shipments from quoting to billing/closing stage
- Provide air and ocean export quotes to U.S. and overseas clients
- Submit timely documentation to airlines and steamship lines
- Handle carnets, in-bond, Fish & Wildlife, T/E, returned shipments and CASS billing
- Track air and ocean freight from booking to delivery at destination
- Build relationships and follow up with clients and overseas agents
- Close communication with manager and fellow team members
- Advise manager of any export problems and irregularities
- Perform any other related tasks as required or assigned by manager
Requirements:
- Must have an Associate degree or higher
- A minimum of 4 years of export air and ocean experience
- Understanding quoting process of U.S. and overseas clients
- Experience working with Cargowise is a plus
- Understanding of TSA regulations
- IATA and/or IMDG certified is a plus
- Full understanding and handling of carnets, in-bond, fish & wildlife, T/E shipments, returned and licensed shipments
- Experience with CASS
- Must be extremely detailed oriented and organized
- Ability to work independently and as a team player
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service communication skills
- Must work well under pressure and able to meet deadlines
- Ability to work in a busy and fast paced environment
