Job Summary:
Receives, ships, and delivers equipment. Inspects, maintains, and schedules repairs on truck/trailer. Must be licensed to operate a truck and appropriate DOT certification required. Maintains a commercial driver's license.
Essential Functions:
- This position is responsible for daily pick up and deliveries.
- The position is time sensitive and requires a high level of interpersonal and customer service skills, and requires driving in city traffic.
- Driver loads and unloads vehicle, may be required to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate loading equipment i.e. manual and electric pallet jacks and light forklift.
Completes moderately complex tasks following well-defined procedures; may involve a variety of work routines. Applies a range of experience and/or skills. Selects the appropriate alternatives from a variety of defined options. May provide on-the-job training to new team members.
Qualification Requirements: Knowledge : HS Diploma, or equivalent. Candidate must have an acceptable and safe driving record.
Skills : • Ability to handle large equipment safely
• Communicate effectively with multiple dock personnel
• Work in a fast-paced, quickly changing environment
• Work in outdoor weather conditions
Experience : • 0-2 years professional experience. • Must process a current Class B CDL and current DOT required medical certification card. • Subject to DOT required random drug screens.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands or finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment : The duties of this job are performed in both an office environment and a light industrial environment, thereby experiencing some minor to moderate level of noise due to office equipment and industrial equipment.
