Unitrans International Corporation is currently hiring for a Licensed Customs Broker (Entry Writer) at our Seattle, WA location. We are also hiring at our Los Angeles, CA and S. San Francisco, CA locations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Maintain contact with customers by phone or in person and receives orders for processing, delivery, discontinuance, or change in service.
  • Review information for completeness: confirm flight information, cargo on board, AMS System (Customs) and OGA clearance
  • Distribution of documentation to Customers (pre-alerts) UIC Import Agents (entry writers), Outside Brokers, Trucking Companies
  • Provides quotation for potential new and existing business
  • Performs contract review, determines charges for service requested, collects deposits, process or re-direct change of address records, and issues discontinuance orders.
  • Customer Service - Manages difficult or emotional customer situations; Responds promptly to customer needs; Solicits customer feedback to improve service; Responds to request for service and assistance; Meets commitments.

  • Developing and maintaining economical and efficient import processes, including rating, routing, and documentation.
  • Overseeing all movement of import merchandise through the supply-chain.
  • Management of the coordination for expedited import shipments.
  • Identify and resolve issues hindering operations and product flow.
  • Assist in evaluating compliance by all import providers to documented guidelines in Title 19 of the CFR and HTS and Standard Operating Procedures to ensure effective utilization of appropriate carriers and import practices.
  • Monitoring/analysis of all business reports and information to aid in the basic decision making process of import operational needs.
  • Maintenance and analysis of daily, weekly, monthly, reports.
  • Maintenance of all regulatory paperwork and import records.
  • Work directly with vendors, buyers, planners, replenishment, transportation, distribution, finance, accounting, and compliance areas.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Requires a valid Customs Broker License and U.S. citizenship or legal status.
