Job Summary

Operate vehicle to transport materials to and from specified destinations in a safe and efficient manner. Pull orders to ensure delivered freight is recorded accurately and moved to the appropriate destination. Manual loading and unloading of freight with the use of a pallet jack, hand truck, or forklift, general labor, and warehouse maintenance. Primary Duties and Responsibility:

  • Receive cargo from incoming trucks by removing from truck by hand, or by using manual equipment such as hand truck or pallet jack, or by using forklift.
  • Verify and note the count and condition of cargo received, knowing when to either refuse or accept with notation.
  • Records receipts to appropriate forms and/or log books.
  • Verify that proper documentation is attached.
  • Sort cargo received by account or intended location, and store in proper location.
  • Accurately label freight to destination.
  • Develop and maintain excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
  • Assist in various warehouse maintenance tasks, including sweeping floors, putting equipment away, etc.
  • May drive truck (safely and in compliance with all applicable State and Federal Regulations) to move trailers, but not authorized to drive on public streets.
  • Containerize, palletize, package, organize and stage freight in a neat and orderly manner for shipment.
  • Upon arrival receive dock assignment, complete and sign appropriate paperwork.
  • Ensure equipment is in proper repair and working order.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimumthree years industry driving experience may be substituted for High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum six months related experience.
Certifications and Licenses

  • Valid state issued Class C Driver's License issued by the driver's home state of residence.
  • Acceptable driving record as defined byCEVA policy.
  • Forklift Driver Certification.
  • DOT Dangerous Goods/Hazardous Materials Certification
Languages and Communication Skills

  • Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds.
Computer Skills

  • PC Literate
Other Skills/Experience

  • Ability to drive and/or operate heavy machinery and/or equipment.
  • Ability to operate dolly, forklift, hand trucks and pallet jacks on a daily basis.
  • Thorough knowledge of instant scanner.
  • Ability to frequentlylift minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Responds promptly and professionally to customer needs.
  • Ability to understand highway traffic signs and signals.
  • Ability to read, comprehend andcomplete basic checklists, forms or other related documents.
  • Effectively present information one-on-one or in small group situations.
  • Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner.
  • Balances team and individual responsibilities.
  • Consistently at work and on time.
